How Big is the Difference Between a Traitor and an Accomplice?

Perhaps Hamlet’s Marcellus, were he alive today, would utter the landmark comment, “Something is rotten in the United States of America”. 

And the rot is at the root of our two party system, and personified in the Republican Party.  Republicans seem to be enthralled in a cult of personality kowtowing to Donald Trump.  They all have lost their moral compass when it comes to their oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Today Trump tweeted that his 'button' is larger than Kim Jung-Un’s, and the Republicans are all silent, all except Sarah Huckabee Sanders who, as the 'emissary of non-information', said that it wasn’t a '10 year old’s taunt', but rather our President ‘standing up to defend our country’.  Horse caca!  As a group they have all decided that in order to protect the madman in the White House, they will impugn the integrity of the Department of Justice, initiate false inquests into supposed FBI bias, denigrate Robert Mueller’s investigation, and do whatever they can to stall and inhibit the probe into the Russia story.

An entire Republican party, including the President, don’t really care at all that the linchpin of our democracy—the notion that ours is a government of the people, by the people and for the people—was interfered with by a foreign power!  There has not been any inquiry or concern on the part of the President that a foreign power has tried to sabotage our election, and the Republicans in Congress don’t appear to care either.  What happened to these people?  Are they so in thrall of this imbecile in the White House that they are willing to forsake all care for the sovereignty of our country?  What is actually important to these----these seditionists!

The conduct of our Executive is so appalling that it is beyond comprehension how Republicans can avoid saying “Enough!”  This party is incapable of governing.  It is rotten to the core.  No Republican is willing to stand for our country by rising up against the incompetence of our President.  Why?  We are headed for chaos, my fellow citizens, unless sanity takes hold and true patriots come to the rescue.

Hats off to the leaders of Fusion GPS for calling out the Republican leaders of the committees that spent thousands of our dollars grilling the executives of Fusion GPS about the facts and circumstances that led to the production of “The Dossier”.  Selectively using facts out of context, they are egging on the rest of their Republican colleagues to chase false investigations into supposed nefarious activities by Fusion GPS and Hillary Clinton.  The executives at Fusion have demanded that the committees release the transcripts of their testimony, so the public can decide for themselves whether Fusion did anything wrong.  So far the Republican chairmen of those committees have refused to release the transcripts….but they are certainly quick to release pieces of the transcripts to the far right media, where it supports their specious claims!

I think it is all going to come spewing out shortly.  We will all finally learn the truth.  We will see the relationships that are being revealed, and the bad actors that tried to subvert our elections.  These people are traitors, and justice will be done.
